"The latest round of illegal anti-Russian restrictions targeting banks, individuals and commercial vessels only confirms that London has reached a dead end with its sanctions policy. Each new sanctions list is intended to demonstrate the resolve of the British authorities, but in fact shows the ineffectiveness and futility of the course they have chosen," the comment said.

The Russian Embassy stressed that "Russia will not change its course." "Our top priorities remain protecting national interests and ensuring sustainable development. Attempts to deal with us through sanctions and threats are doomed to fail," the comment added.
