This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Istituto Marangoni Paris.

After first opening schools in Milan and London, Paris was the third location — a natural step given the school’s global outlook and the city’s status as a fashion capital, with its emphasis on couture and luxury.

The Parisian school entices students from all over the world and has shaped international fashion talent since 2006. Students come from Asia, Brazil, Turkey, North America and the Scandinavian countries, boosting the international energy at the school, which is filled with different languages, cultures and visions. This is thanks to the reputation and appeal of the French capital and the school’s pedagogical approach.

For Istituto Marangoni Paris, the story of the university continues through all the voices in constant dialogue with the city and its visionary energy.

The first location of the school was amid the city’s many fashion maisons, on rue Raymond Poincaré near the Eiffel Tower, but a bigger campus was needed to accommodate the growing student population.

It moved to rue de Miromesnil near the Champs-Élysées before finally settling into its new campus in 2025, in the Iéna district within the upscale 16th arrondissement — with more space and improved facilities for students’ academic studies. With innovation at the forefront of the Istituto Marangoni Paris, the school has fully integrated new technologies across all its programs.

The school’s Orangerie building hosts a series of talks and meetings throughout the school year with major figures across the beauty and fashion industry, who engage with students and share their vision and experiences.

Notable companies and people who’ve attended include Giambattista Valli, Estée Lauder, Jean Touitou of A.P.C., Coperni, Chanel Beauty, Olivier Rousteing, Marc Chaya of Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Guillaume Henry of Patou, Babette Djian of Numéro, Eugénie Trochu of Vogue Paris, Regina Rubens, Chantal Thomass and Jean-Jacques Picart, former adviser to Bernard Arnault.

Past Istituto Marangoni students such as Julie de Libran, who have gone on to become internationally known designers or top luxury leaders, have returned to its various school campuses to speak to current students.

As part of the milestone, Istituto Marangoni Paris held its graduate show “Crafting Futures” for its Fashion Design program this past July at the Hôtel de Galliffet, home of the Italian Cultural Institute. The school also hosted an exhibition, cocktail party and DJ celebration by Claude-Emanuelle on Sept. 15.

“For 20 years, Istituto Marangoni Paris has welcomed emerging talents from around the world, transmitting essential know how while integrating new technologies into creative practices,” said Valérie Berdah Levy, school director of Istituto Marangoni Paris. “The collections showcased this year embody this legacy and reflect the boldness of a new generation.”

Reflecting the school’s diversity, 10 of the university’s graduate collections featured designers from India, Korea, France, Germany, Cambodia, Palestine, Taiwan and Switzerland. Among the collections showcased on the runway were Tanisha Nevrekar’s “Ahilya,” Kimgy Lao’s “Home,” Ko Hsun Sun (Jessica)’s “The Hanging Memories,” Grace Ilis’ “Disrupted Lineage,” Chaerin Park’s “Concrete Garden,” Simon Chichportich’s “Eclipse Fantasy,” Trisha Talpady’s “A Continuum of Form,” Amro Atamleh’s “The Voice of Silence,” Carlotta Baader’s “The Woman Between Rooms” and Marina Roudier’s “Lipstick Breakfast.”
