In a bid to simplify his daily travel in Pune, Ajay More has turned to a revolutionary kick-based electric scooter. This smart choice enables him to maneuver through congested streets effortlessly. Tailored for India's diverse road conditions, the scooter is not just lightweight; it also folds into a compact skateboard. Boasting a 30 km range per charge, it encourages a shift towards eco-friendlier public transport.

The daily commute to the office can be terribly exhausting. A professional has to navigate through heavy traffic, move through crowded streets and jostle in packed public transport to reach work. This is not only time-consuming but also tests your patience and energy. But Pune man Ajay More seems to have found a practical solution to these everyday commuting woes. He travels to work on a kick-based electric scooter to sidestep the daily chaos.

Pune man’s kick-based e-scooter

Back in June, Ajay posted a video on Instagram featuring him riding the scooter to work, which instantly grabbed the internet’s attention. The clip captured Ajay swerving through the road, riding along the sidewalks, and even taking the scooter inside the metro, as the vehicle barely takes up any space.

Ajay’s side note read, ‘My typical day using smart mobility and public transport: Pune Metro. As per our PM’s address to use more public transport options to save fuel and energy. Also, this electric scooter is allowed in the Metro.’ So far, the video has clocked over 18 million views.

All you need to know about the e-scooter

According to a report by the Times of India, the e-scooter idea was born from the mind of 28-year-old mechanical engineer Aniruddha Gunjal. In 2020, he founded the company Genesys Electric Mobility, along with 2 other founders, Ajay More and Harshit Agrawal.

The scooter is specially suited to Indian road conditions. The production takes place at a workshop in Warje. The unit has the capacity to manufacture about 300 scooters a month. Although the battery is sourced from a 3rd party vendor, the rest of the parts are built in the workshop itself.

The scooter, which weighs 12 kgs, runs at a top speed of 25 km per hour with a range of 30 km per charge. What’s more, the battery can also be charged in just 3 hours. Due to its foldable model, the e-scooter can be transformed into a sleek skateboard, making it a hassle-free option.
