Nine of the 11 investments will be implemented in Budapest, one in Budaörs and one in Debrecen.

In terms of the number of apartments, the Budapest projects will see the construction of 3,200 homes. These apartment developments are subject to a price cap of HUF 1.5 million per square metre, he explained.

Miklós Panyi emphasised that Home Start developments could also be launched in four districts of Budapest that were not affected by previous investments, thus promoting the expansion of the supply of affordable housing in Districts III, IV, XIV and XIX.

He wrote that the current decision affects 11 forward-looking projects in terms of cityscape and urban planning. These projects will revitalise old industrial and unused brownfield sites with good transport links that are currently in a state of neglect.

The necessary consultations with the relevant municipalities will also begin in the near future.
