We might all be settling into a fall state of mind, but one last splash of summer has arrived. Tropical Smoothie Cafe has unveiled a fresh new identity by global design agency JKR, bringing a little Florida sunshine into the season.

Since its beginnings in Florida, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has been bringing tropical energy to its restaurants since the early 1990s. The brand has experienced significant growth alongside the rise of fast-casual dining—a category that gained even greater momentum following the COVID-19 pandemic. With an expanding footprint and its acquisition by private equity, the brand was ready to evolve its identity and strengthen its position in an increasingly competitive space.
The redesign returns Tropical Smoothie Cafe to its Florida roots while giving the brand a more distinctive and contemporary visual language. Rather than interpreting “tropical” simply as a destination, the new identity captures it as a feeling—warm, vibrant, relaxed, and full of energy.
“When you step into a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, you feel it before you can name it—the sights, the smells, the sounds,” said JB Hartford, Executive Creative Director at JKR.
“We saw a chance to treat ‘tropical’ less as a place and more as a feeling, one guests could carry with them everywhere, matching the energy and craveability that’s always defined the food itself.”
That idea comes to life across the entire brand experience. A redesigned logo introduces more personality and character, while the playful “Palm T” icon—a T shaped from palm trees—acts as a recognizable shorthand for the brand and its tropical roots. Palm Frond Green and Sunset Orange establish a bright, sun-soaked color palette, complemented by expressive illustration, motion, and photography that feels warm and sun-kissed.
Together, these elements create a more cohesive identity that feels unmistakably Tropical Smoothie Cafe, whether experienced inside a restaurant, on packaging, across digital platforms, or out in the world.
