Here is our review of the SJCAM SJ30 8K Dual-lens Action Camera.

Capture every adventure in remarkable detail with the SJCAM SJ30 8K Dual-lens Action Camera, built for riders, travellers and creators who want flexibility without the premium price tag. Record 8K video at 20fps, 4K at up to 60fps and 1080p at up to 240fps, and snap sharp 48MP photos through a wide 140° field of view.
Shoot day or night with a dedicated f/2.8 day lens and an f/1.8 starlight night lens, and keep your footage steady with SteadyMotion 2.0 stabilisation, a 6-axis gyroscope and 45° automatic horizon levelling. Frame yourself perfectly with the 2.51-inch flip touchscreen and record native vertical video for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
With a 2000mAh built-in battery and a 4200mAh power handle giving you up to 7 hours of shooting, the SJ30 keeps going as long as you do. Enjoy hands-free voice control, live streaming, up to 51 seconds of pre-recording, a detachable wind guard, dual-band Wi-Fi and waterproofing down to 5m straight out of the box.
Features
The box contains the SJ30 Camera, USB Type-C Cable and a selection of Mounts and Accessories.
A Closer Look
Final ThoughtsThe SJ30 is a compact little camera, measuring just 74 x 52 x 38mm and weighing 162g, so it is easy to slip into a pocket or mount on a helmet or handlebars.
When fully charged (the camera takes about 2.5 hours and the power handle around 3 hours), the SJ30 can give you up to 7 hours of shooting with the handle connected. The handle links to the camera with a USB Type-C cable rather than clipping straight on, which takes a little getting used to. Don’t worry, it also doubles as a handy grip for vlogging.
There are plenty of resolutions to choose from – 8K at 20fps, 6K at 30fps, 4K at 60fps and 1080p at 240fps – and while 8K is great to have, 4K at 60fps is the one you will probably use most of the time.
The dual lens setup is the real highlight here. The day lens gives natural colours in bright light and the f/1.8 night lens lets in more light, so evening footage comes out cleaner than you might expect from an action camera at this price.
SteadyMotion 2.0 and the 45° horizon lock work really well together and help keep footage smooth and level whether you are cycling, skiing or just walking around.
The 2.51-inch flip touchscreen is a great addition and makes it really simple to frame yourself when vlogging or taking selfies – no more guessing whether you are actually in the shot.
There are also lots of modes to choose from – Time Lapse, Slow Motion, Car Mode, Loop Recording, Pre-recording and Motion Detection – and you can shoot native vertical video too, which is perfect if you post to TikTok or Instagram.
Audio is handled by two built-in microphones and a detachable wind guard. If you want better sound you can pair the SJCAM M4 Wireless Microphone with a single click, just bear in mind that wired microphones are not supported.
The SJ30 is waterproof down to 5m on its own and up to 30m with the waterproof case, although the power handle is not waterproof, so leave that on dry land. There is no built-in storage either, so make sure you have a microSD card to hand.
Hands-free voice control is a nice touch too, letting you start and stop recording without taking your hands off the handlebars – definitely worth setting up.
The SJCAM SJ30 8K Dual-lens Action Camera is available now priced around £224 and is available as either a Standard Combo or a Charging Combo.
