M-HERO M817 Launches from USD43,500 with Huawei 896-Line Lidar and 1450km Range

M-HERO Auto, in collaboration with Huawei, officially launched the all-new M817 “luxury intelligent off-road SUV” on June 27. This M-HERO M817 (exported globally as the MHero II) is a full-size, luxury off-road plug-in hybrid SUV produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation.

Positioned as a direct competitor to high-end hardcore off-roaders like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the BYD Yangwang U8, it blends aggressive, cyberpunk-inspired military styling with cutting-edge intelligent technology. This 4×4 dimensions are as follows, its 5,100mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and up to 1,919mm tall, with a 3,005mm wheelbase.

The vehicle recently made its official Malaysian debut where it was previewed at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026.

The model is offered in five variants which is Mate, Mate+, Max, Max+, and Ultra with official guide prices ranging from RMB299,900 (USD43,500) to RMB399,900 (USD57,800).

The M817 integrates five of Huawei’s intelligent solutions: Qiankun intelligent driving, HarmonySpace cockpit, Qiankun vehicle cloud, Qiankun vehicle control, and Jingqi communication technology.

The vehicle debuts the industry’s first 896-line LiDAR and is equipped with the NCA off-road edition and Huawei’s full-dimension collision avoidance system CAS 5.0. The M817 achieves a combined CLTC range of 1,450 km, utilising an 800V high-voltage platform and 6C ultra-fast charging that can replenish from 30 to 80 percent state of charge in 9.6 minutes.
