England fans took over a baseball game in Atlanta in a moment that went viral

Middlesbrough supporters with an England flag donning the new Boro club crest were spotted front and centre of a viral moment at a baseball game in Atlanta recently.

After watching the Three Lions beat DR Congo last week, a group of England fans out for the World Cup used the opportunity while Stateside to take in a Baseball game.

They were in attendance at Atlanta Braves’ MLB clash with the New York Mets and took a particular liking to one particular Braves star.

Michael Harris II just happened to be the closest fielder to where the England fans gathered and, having reacted jovially to their first bit of attention towards him, they were typically English in showing their affection for their new favourite baseball player throughout the match.

With Harris playing up to the attention, the England fans sang songs such as ‘Harris give us a wave,’ ‘There’s only one Michael Harris’, and ‘Walking in a Harris wonderland’.

Harris clearly enjoyed it and went over to acknowledge the England fans at the end of the game, videoing as they sang his name. Front and centre of his video, which has been widely reposted and shared around social media, are a group of Boro fans, proudly displaying their Boro-themed St George’s flag.

Harris took selfies with the England fans and even swapped his match-worn cap for an England shirt. He then jokingly posted on his Instagram again on Sunday ahead of the clash with Mexico, backing England to get the win.

With the clip going viral, Harris was interviewed ahead of the Mexico game and rather incredibly correctly predicted that Thomas Tuchel’s side would win the game 3-2. It was joked he’d be getting Bulldog tattoos right around his waist if his prediction did come true.

Middlesbrough are preparing for a big summer as they look to rebuild from the heartarche of missing out on promotion to the Premier League.
