Strictly Come Dancing favourite Lewis Cope's next TV gig has been revealed – and it includes Downton Abbey and Waterloo Road stars.

The former Emmerdale actor, 30, danced with Katya Jones and the pair were frontrunners for most of the competition.

Their impressive run came to an end after losing a dance-off against Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin.

A month on, it has been revealed Lewis will be part of upcoming Channel 5 drama Forever Home.

Based on a novel penned by Graham Norton, the six-part series is expected to debut later this year.

Other cast members include Waterloo Road legend Denise Welch, Downton Abbey actress Amy Nuttall and The Revenge Club's Douglas Henshall.

Lewis Cope's next TV gig post-Strictly has been confirmed – and he is set to be joined by very familiar faces

The actor, 30, competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2025, where he was partnered with pro Katya Jones

Lewis is set to star in a new drama series for Channel 5 (pictured here in Emmerdale, where he played Nicky Milligan from 2022 to 2024)

Joining them are Kevin Whately, James Baxter, Jenny Walser and Shane Zaza, to name a few.

The story takes place in a small Irish town and follows protagonist Carol, who is settling into life with a new partner.

After discovering a body in the basement of her home, it becomes apparent she is living with a killer.

At the time of Lewis's Strictly elimination, fans and judges admitted they were surprised the talented star didn't make it further.

Despite both being at the top end of the leaderboard for Musicals week, Lewis and Amber had to perform their routines once more to fight for their place in the next week's semi-finals.

Shirley Ballas said of the dance-off result: 'I'm speechless. Absolutely speechless. You have to dance for your place in the semi-final. We are all admiring all of you. May the best man win.'

Motsi Mabuse had the casting vote and decided to put Amber and Nikita through to the semi-final, after the other three judges voted for the former Love Island star.

In 2022, Lewis joined the cast of Emmerdale to portray Nicky, a nanny caring for the children at Home Farm.

A plot twist revealed Nicky was the son of fellow newcomer Caleb Milligan (William Ash), with the pair secretly plotting together.

He ultimately left the village in 2024, leaving alongside boyfriend Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana).

Forever Home also includes Waterloo Road and Coronation Street legend Denise Welch among the cast

Also set to appear is former Shetland lead actor Douglas Henshall, who viewers better know as DI Jimmy Perez

Meanwhile, it comes as Lewis recently announced another exciting career move.

Sharing an update to his Instagram Story last week, Lewis revealed that he will be working with FilmNation, but kept the details under wraps.

The American entertainment company have produced film's such as Emerald Fennell's Promising Young Woman and Maria, which featured Angelina Jolie in the titular role.

The actor recently revealed that he is set to reunite on the dance floor with pro partner Katya in a clip shared to Instagram.

Lewis and the professional dancer have announced that they will be hosting a one-off workshop in his native hometown of Hartlepool.

Posting on Katya's Instagram stories, the two appeared in a video as Lewis said: 'So a lot of people have been messaging us and commenting and saying they want to dance with us.'

Katya jumped in and added: 'So we've decided that we want to dance with you.'

Lewis continued: 'So we are going to do a workshop in Hartlepool, the link will be somewhere around here and in our bios.

'If you want to come and dance with us, meet us, ask us questions, hang out with us – how exciting!'

They included a link to the tickets for the one-off date of Sunday 22nd February from 10am to 11:30am, with general admission being £75, with a £2 booking fee.
