A new assortment of Game Boy titles has been added to Nintendo Switch Online. Starting today, subscribers can play Fortified Zone, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, and The Sword of Hope 2. Additionally,  Dr. Mario & Puzzle League has been added to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Fortified Zone, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, and The Sword of Hope 2, as mentioned, are all titles developed for the now-vintage Nintendo Game Boy handheld. Fortified Zone, for instance, is a 1991 top-down action game, developed and published by Jaleco. Among the latest array of games, this is the most under-the-radar one being added.

Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is one of the more popular Game Boy games being added to Nintendo Switch Online. As a sequel to Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, this title follows Wario as he travels across an island, gathering treasures needed to purchase a castle to call his own. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is a side-scrolling adventure with a greater focus on collecting coins throughout each level.

Rounding out the base list is The Sword of Hope 2, developed by Kemco. This is a 1992 menu-based RPG. In this game, players must retrieve the Sword of Hope and find the evil Zakdos, who has been set free after being imprisoned in the first entry of the series.

For those subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online+ Expansion Pack, Nintendo has also added Dr. Mario & Puzzle League. This is a Game Boy Advance title and an enhanced remake of the original Dr. Mario. As a beloved puzzle game and personal favourite of mine, Dr. Mario & Puzzle League is certainly a game to try if you haven’t.
