The latest challenge from Radio 1 saw Team Greg and Team Jamie tasked with deciphering a series of clues leading them to different areas of the country.
Once a location had been determined, the race was on to collect a flag with each opponent's face on it - and most flags wins.
After a tense few days of sending their teams as far afield as Barry, Derry and even the Shetland Islands, as well as a literal race to the finish in Newcastle, Greg emerged victorious with 10 flags to Jamie's nine.
But the challenge came with consequences, with Jamie set to take over as host of Radio 1 Breakfast if he had won.
However he lost, and the Made In Chelsea star's forfeit was that he had to name Greg as the godfather of the unborn baby he is due to welcome with wife Sophie.
Greg James has been named the godfather of Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo's baby after emerging victorious in Radio 1's Giant Face Off on Friday
The Made In Chelsea star's forfeit was that he had to name Greg as the godfather of the unborn baby he is due to welcome with wife Sophie (Seen together in June)
Hours before, Jamie had told Sophie live on air that godfather Greg was a possibility if he lost.
Speaking on the show, he said: 'So I just got a message from Sophie my wife saying "How are you, just checking in".
And i said before that I actually haven't mentioned the fact that you potentially could be godfather of my child so I thought I might tell her now. [Phone rings] I'm actually terrified...'
After a few niceties, Jamie broke the news, saying: 'You know how I've been doing this sort of Giant Face Off with Greg all week where I need to win! Yes?
He continued: 'Just quickly, I haven't told you this... I'm going to keep it very brief. There are forfeits at the end. Greg's is hilarious... I get to take over the Radio 1 Breakfast Show when I win.
'I have a forfeit as well. Um... just very blase... if I lose Greg becomes the godfather of our child.'
After a period of silence, Sophie replied: '... Absolutely, wonderful'
'So you're happy for Greg to...,' Jamie began before Sophie added: 'Godfather Greg, I can't wait. It's got a ring'

'She seems fine with it?' Greg said tentatively, before Jamie added: 'Hmm, yeah I know Sophie very well. Once she's off air it will be a different conversation, I think.'
'Thanks honey I just want to let you know that I love you!' before Sophie jumped in with: 'Ahhh, make sure you win!'
After saying 'I love you' twice with no response from Sophie, she hung up and the radio station erupted in laughter.
Confirming Greg's win on Instagram on Friday, a clip showed him running down a bridge in Newcastle to collect his flag after the pair received their final clue from a band live on air.
Arriving at the bridge, Greg was greeted by two flags attached to it with his and Jamie's face on them.
He was then handed a pair of scissors to cut Jamie's flag down, leaving his remaining and thus winning the game.
Sophie and Jamie, aged 36 and 30 respectively, announced earlier this year that they were expecting a baby together.

But Sophie revealed on her and Jamie's newly named podcast NearlyParents, that she has struggled with some aspects of her pregnancy.
She confessed that when her second trimester hit, she felt like she was 'dying' and was dealing with a lot of hormones that made her frequently feel irritated.
'This girl has gone from a bit of a b***h to don't come near me,' she quipped.
'Up until week eight, I was smooth sailing. No good aversions, no sickness, so much energy, I was like what is every talking about this is unbelievable.
'Week eight hit and everyone's starting to grate to me a bit. Like that man sat next to me on the plane breathing, like is it illegal if I punch him in the face?
'If you're a fan of the podcast, I love you so much but you're not going to like me if you meet me at the moment.'
Jamie said he struggled to get his head around Sophie's mood changes with pregnancy, recalling: 'I asked Sophie if she had any cravings and she said, ''No, the only craving I have is hating you''.
