Kim Vo, the beloved hairstylist trusted by some of Hollywood's most famous faces, has died following a long and courageous battle with colorectal cancer. He was 55.

Over the course of his decades-long career, Vo became Hollywood's go-to colorist, working with A-listers including Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spears, Pamela Anderson, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, and Uma Thurman.

He also became a familiar face to television audiences as a judge on Bravo's hairstyling competition Shear Genius, which aired for three seasons between 2007 and 2010 alongside Camila Alves and Jonathan Antin.

Vo's husband, Adeel Khan, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a moving Instagram post shared Saturday, revealing the stylist had been diagnosed in 2018 and had far outlived doctors' initial expectations.

'My beloved husband, best friend, partner in life & business, Kim Vō, has taken his final breath,' Khan wrote. 'Diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2018, he fought valiantly, winning many battles along the way and exceeding all medical expectations under the care of Dr. Lawrence Piro and his incredible team at Angeles Clinic and Cedars-Sinai. Ultimately, God decided it was time for our angel on earth to return home.'

In the emotional tribute, Khan also shared Vo's final wish was that friends and fans honor his legacy not with flowers, but by supporting others in the beauty industry facing similar battles.

He encouraged donations to the Kim Vo Foundation, which aids hair, beauty and fashion creatives affected by cancer.

The news prompted an outpouring of grief from celebrities and industry figures who credited Vo not only with iconic transformations, but with profound kindness.

Tori Spelling wrote, 'I'm so sorry - he was such an amazing human. Filled with such light and love xo.'

Perez Hilton added, 'Oh no!!! The iconic Perez pink and all my wold colors – as well as my lush blondes – were thanks to Kim. A master of his craft and art! Such a loss!'

Producer Ashley Hammen echoed the sentiment, saying, 'I will never forget his kindness and how special I felt when I walked in those salon doors. May he fly high with the angels. I feel so lucky to have known him and am sending prayers for healing to all the hearts who loved him.'

TV host and influencer XiXi Yang shared a particularly personal remembrance, recalling her first visit to Vo's salon more than a decade ago.

'Kim, you changed my life,' Yang wrote. 'I still remember walking into your beautiful salon at the Montage in Beverly Hills in 2012… You saw it before I could say it. You took me lighter, added layers, and somehow… everything changed for me.'

'I remember looking into the mirror after the color and cut, and almost crying,' she continued. 'I was seeing myself differently, for the first time. That moment changed the trajectory of my life and my career. You've been family ever since.'

Beyond his on-screen work, Vo left his mark behind the scenes on shows such as Extreme Makeover and Plain Jane, and more recently appeared on Paramount+'s celebrity hairstylist docuseries Blowing LA.

The series followed him at his West Hollywood-based Kim Vo Salon.

In 2023, he was honored with the Best Colorist Award at Los Angeles Magazine's inaugural Best of Beauty Awards.

According to his website, Vo was hailed as the 'best blonder in the business' by Vogue and beloved by his clients for his warmth and talent.
