Pamela Anderson has revamped her look once again, this time by debuting a curly red-hued bob. The actress, 58, shared her transformation on the cover of this week's issue of People magazine. Anderson is now going largely makeup-free after turning her back on her Playboy pinup roots back in 2023. Speaking to People, Anderson proudly declared that 'beauty is subjective' - but not everyone has been a fan of her jaw-dropping transformation.
'Love all of this! But the hairstyle is just not good,' commented one. Another wrote, 'I mean, a little bit of makeup won't hurt.' A third commented, 'It’s enough already - anything to get some coverage.' However, the Baywatch beauty received dozens of gushing comments praising her for embracing her natural beauty. 'I love this! So proud of you. What an incredible year it's been!' her son Brandon commented.
'The best role yet, being your beautiful SELF!' wrote fellow Baywatch star Gena Lee Nolin. 'We love you, Pam! You are a new step toward success for women and celebrities to be who they are,' gushed a fan. Speaking to People, Anderson said that she's 'not opposed to makeup' but admitted that she 'used it for protection in the past'. Now that she's embracing her natural beauty, the actress says that she's found 'another form of freedom'. 'I'm not thinking about how I look. I'm creating a character and I'm kind of in transition,' she explained.
'Sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and go "Oh! Geez, who's that?" But isn't that so much fun? It's just great.' She added, 'I feel like I've kind of cracked the code. I look like my Instagram photos!' Anderson also said that she now finds beauty 'in interesting faces, older faces'. The Stacked star stopped wearing heavy makeup in 2023, which is around the same time that she launched her Sonsie skincare line. One year after it was founded, Pam took over Sonsie as co-owner in 2024.
Her debut co-created product was the line's Cleansing Mousse, infused with rose hips essence and made with her Vancouver rose garden in mind. The star chatted with Better Homes & Gardens while promoting her cookbook I Love You: Recipes from the Heart in August 2024. Discussing the public persona she had in the 1990s, she said, 'People have this pneumatic kind of image of me from Playboy to Baywatch, to my rock 'n' roll type of husbands, to everything else.
'And as much as I threw every dinner party and cooked all those meals for family and my kids, it wasn't what was seen publicly.' On the other hand, she added, 'But I also played into the image that was created around me. I'm glad I did all that, but I'm really glad I'm where I am now.' Outside of changing her look, Anderson has also reignited her acting career.
She earned praise from critics for her dramatic turn in 2024's The Last Showgirl and then found box office success alongside Liam Neeson in The Naked Gun remake. She is currently filming Michael Cera's Love Is Not the Answer alongside Jamie Dornan and Steve Coogan.
