After changing hands a few times, Chicago Public Media is launching chicago.com.

Chicago.com is about to get a new life.
Josh Metnick sold the domain name to Wrapports LLC, the publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times, in 2013.
In 2017, former Wrapports chairman Michael Ferro made a gift to The Chicago Community Trust to acquire the domain name.
Chicago Public Media acquired the Chicago Sun-Times in 2022 and transitioned it to a nonprofit news organization, but the domain name was not part of that transaction.
Now, the Chicago Community Trust is donating the domain to Chicago Public Media.
Chicago Public Media, which also operates WBEZ 91.5, says it will launch chicago.com this fall to provide people with access to trusted local information.
