French conglomerate Groupe SEB is expanding its professional espresso equipment portfolio with the launch of the La 125 espresso machine from La San Marco, the Italian heritage espresso equipment brand it acquired in 2023.
The La 125 is the first new La San Marco model developed entirely since the acquisition, according to the company, and is positioned as a new mid-range flagship. While echoing the spirit of the La 100 series, the La 125 delivers a substantially updated feature set.
Built for high-volume cafe and hospitality settings, the La San Marco La 125 uses less plastic, with powder-coated die-cast aluminum side panels and insulated boilers designed to support thermal stability and energy efficiency.
The La 125 is available in single-boiler and multi-boiler versions. The multi-boiler model offers independent temperature control for each group, while a centralized 2.8-inch touchscreen display and backlit group keypads provide the main user interface.
“The innovation lies in this balance: combining proven La San Marco technologies with a distinctive retro-inspired design, improved usability, and a positioning that makes the machine particularly relevant for a wide range of professional environments,” Giovanni Fucili, general manager of SEB Professional Beverage, told Daily Coffee News.
The multi-boiler La 125 brings independent group-temperature control into a more accessible range than La San Marco’s higher-end La D and La E Luxury machines, Fucili said. La D launched in 2021 following the brand’s 100-year anniversary celebration, while La E Luxury later extended the company’s multi-boiler platform into a more design-forward machine.
“La D and E Luxury remain positioned as advanced solutions for customers requiring greater technological complexity or a more contemporary design approach,” Fucili said. “The La 125 addresses a different need, combining La San Marco’s professional know-how, heritage-inspired design and functional evolution in an accessible and versatile platform.”
SEB and La San Marco originally introduced the La 125 at the HostMilano 2025 show. The machine is scheduled to reach the U.S. market in January 2027, with U.S. pricing to be announced later this year by Groupe SEB Professional Hot Beverage USA’s newly established La San Marco sales department.
