Mumford & Sons are currently routing their way through Europe and the UK on an extended tour in support of their new album, Prizefighter. For this leg of the run, the English folk act have recruited Dawes’ Griffin Goldsmith to play behind the kit, subbing in for The Slip/Barr Brothers drummer Andrew Barr, who has been with the group for over a year now. Along the way, Mumford & Sons have also welcomed a mix of additional guests.

While performing at Belga’s Rock Werchter festival on Thursday, July 2, the ensemble brought out trending Belgian singer Pommelien Thijs for both the Prizefighter song “Badlands” and her own current hit “Atas” on the festival’s main stage. A few songs later, fellow festival performer Wesley Schultz, who was onsite to play with his band The Lumineers, also sat in with his old friends on another Prizefighter TRACK, “Here.”

On Saturday, July 4, Mumford & Sons opened their stage up once again at the British Summertime event at London’s iconic Hyde Park. Mumford closed out a full day of entertainment that included music on multiple stages, including sets by The War On Drugs, Holly Humberstone, Caamp, Divorce, Cliffords, Stella Lefty,  Cassandra Coleman, Bec O’Malley, Heidi Curtis, Dermot Henryand and The Cuban Brothers, among others. During their headlining spot, Mumford & Sons invited Left back to the stage to sing on “Badlands” and also brought out a surprise guest, Irish singer Hozier, to enhance the Prizefighter tune “Rubber Band Man” and the Sigh No More cut “Awake My Soul.”

However, the evening’s most unexpected moment took place during Mumford & Sons’ encore when country singer Shania Twain took the stage with the band for “Here” and her own “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” from 1997’s Come on Over. The folk group has played a snippet of the tune a handful of times over the years, dating back to 2011 and they covered the country hit regularly on last summer’s guest-heavy Railroad Revival Tour. Twain was in London for a run of shows with Harry Styles at Wembley Stadium and had already charged through a set of her own there earlier in the evening before making her way over to Hyde Park.

Finally, the next night at Dublin’s Marlay Park at another big, while headlining another multi-band event, Mumford & Sons recruited Hozier once again for the same two songs, “Rubber Band Man” and “Awake My Soul.” Mumford & Sons will perform at Italy’s Rock in Roma later today.
