Dax Shepard is under fire for his comments about Sabrina Carpenter after declaring he is 'obsessed' with the blonde beauty.
During a recent episode of Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, with Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernandez as a guest, the 51-year-old made a comment about the singer that left people uncomfortable.
The podcast host - who is married to Kristen Bell - admitted to being 'newly obsessed with' the 26-year-old Espresso singer, thanks to his daughter, before telling Hernandez he should date Carpenter.
'If I'm you again and I'm 28, I'm going to try to date her with all my might. Are you not trying your hardest to marry her?' he asked the SNL star on the show.
However, Hernandez asserted his loyalty to his girlfriend and swiftly shut down the idea by reminding Shepard that he is in a relationship.
'I'm in a relationship with a Dominican girl. She's an architect. She's unreal. She went to Yale,' he told the actor.
'But Sabrina's awesome,' he added.
Listeners were horrified by Shepard's comment about the Please, Please, Please singer, taking to social media to slam him as 'creepy.'

'Do you know how WEIRD you have to be to say things like this to real people, especially ones half your age and already in public relationships??' one shared.
'Dax Shepard you will never beat the weirdo allegations,' criticized another.
Someone else penned: 'Dax Shepard is being a creepy uncle again.'
'Dax Shepard continues to be weird and unsettling,' declared someone else.
'Society has moved beyond the need for Dax Shepard. Someone needs to unplug that weirdo's mic yesterday!' one user wrote.
Hernandez, 28, has reportedly been dating Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral since last year.
The pair were spotted out together at an afterparty for The Phoenician Scheme last May, and made a joint appearance at a Happy Gilmore 2 premiere last July.
Despite there being no romantic interest, Hernandez praised Carpenter, whom he has worked with several times on SNL.
'Sabrina's really... she's down, she's down to clown. She's down to think of something funny. She's an actress,' he said of her time on the show.
However, Hernandez swiftly shut down that idea by reminding Shepard that he is in a relationship with Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral (pictured)

Shepard has been married to actress Kristen Bell since 2013, and they share two daughters: Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11
He continued: 'Sabrina's awesome and she's really funny and cool. She's great.'
Rumors that Carpenter and Hernandez may be romantically involved began after Carpenter's guest appearance on SNL, after she performed the now-viral Domingo sketch with Hernandez.
The hitmaker also 'arrested' the comedian during her Short n' Sweet tour at a 2024 Los Angeles concert.
Shepard has been married to actress Bell since 2013, and they share two daughters: Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11.
Earlier in the year, the father-of-two faced severe backlash after revealing that he offered to pay for Delta to freeze her eggs in the future, with fans slamming his offer as 'weird' and 'creepy.'
'Delty was saying how she can't wait to have a baby,' he said on the episode.
Shepard admitted that when his daughter had first approached him about wanting to be a mom, he focused on not seeming judgmental.
He explained: 'She's saying she wants to have a baby, and I said, "When do you think you'll have your first child? When you turn 18?" I want to be supportive of whatever.
'I don't want to plant any seeds that I'd be judgmental or whatever.'
Shepard went on to say that his youngest child did not, in fact, want to become a parent at 18 as he guessed that she may want to welcome a child between the ages of 35 and 45.
He then revealed he offered to pay for her to freeze her eggs. 'I said, "If you want to, we'll freeze your eggs when you're 18. I'll pay for you to get your eggs frozen so you don't have to think about that."'
The comment came a few months after his wife Bell faced backlash from domestic violence advocates after sharing a disturbing anniversary post on Instagram quoting husband, Shepard saying he was 'heavily incentivized to kill' her.
'Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: 'I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I'm heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would,' the Frozen star wrote.
The post immediately sparked backlash online, with many survivors and advocacy groups condemning it as 'tone-deaf' and 'insensitive' - particularly given that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
