Michelle Keegan desperately attempted to keep warm while filming The Blame in Hertfordshire during a Met Office amber snow warning and a -12C Arctic blast on Wednesday.

The actress, 38, braved the elements while shooting her scenes as she was seen wrapped up in a large Regatta fleece-lined windbreaker.

Sitting on a bench in a park alongside a co-star, Michelle layered the coat over a leather jacket and grey jumper.

Michelle, who plays DI Emma Crane, completed her ensemble with a pair of black tailored trousers and a pair of black, leather, heeled boots.

Although the former soap star, who welcomed baby daughter Palma with her husband Mark Wright in March, needed to remove her jacket between scenes, she layered up while having her makeup touched up.

The Blame is based on the debut novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley and centres around the discovery of the body of a teenage figure skater, sending shockwaves through the town of Wakestead.

The official synopsis of the show reads: 'The drama dives into secrets, suspicion and systemic corruption - all under the surface of this seemingly quiet town.

'The series begins when the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen is discovered, sending shockwaves through the town of Wakestead.

'As DI Crane and DI Radley (Douglas Booth) dig deeper, what starts as a tragic death spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise.

'As the clock ticks and trust fractures, Crane must navigate both a murder investigation and the treacherous politics inside her own team.'

Alongside Michelle and Douglas, Nigel Boyle is set to star as a forensic technician called Brett Shergill.

Robin Hood star Joe Armstrong, who previously starred opposite Michelle in Fool Me Once, has landed the role of an ice-skating coach called Kyle Fraiser.

They will be joined by the likes of The Last Kingdom's Ian Hart, Nathan Mensah, Passenger's Matilda Freeman, House of the Dragon's Gavin Spokes, Last Tango in Halifax's Josh Bolt and White Lines star Ceallach Spellman.

ITV's Director of Drama, Polly Hill, commissioned the six-part series, which has been written and executively produced by the woman behind All Her Fault and Wolf, Megan Gallagher.

Official cast pictures or the release date for The Blame have not yet been revealed, but it is expected to be announced in 2026. 

Michelle's cold scenes come as parts of Britain endured blizzard conditions with an amber warning placed and temperatures plunging to -12C.

Sleet and snow showers continued to hit UK coasts this morning, where the worst-affected areas are expected to face travel disruption and possible power cuts.

Hertfordshire, where Michelle is filming, has seen snow and temperatures drop to freezing point this morning and will only rise to 3C at 1 pm.

Up to 10in (25cm) of snow could settle on high ground on the North York Moors and the surrounding area, where the amber alert remains in force until 9pm tonight.

Five yellow warnings for snow and ice were also in place, with alerts for the coast of North East England, Cornwall, Devon and western Wales in place until midnight.
