Is this the week Ottawa finally breaks into the win column?

Article content

Quarterback Jake Maier believes they’re trending that way.

Article content

“The nice thing is that a lot of our shortcomings are really in our control,” said Maier. “I feel like the last two weeks, man, to be completely blunt and honest with you, we played two teams that were featured in the Grey Cup last year, and two teams that I think a lot of people would consider Grey Cup caliber teams (this season), and we took them down to the wire. That’s not me talking about moral victory at all, but what it is saying is that we’re definitely good enough to play with anybody in this league. And then the separator now will be, how can we not beat ourselves? Because those teams are good enough to beat you as it is. We just have to make sure we’re not beating ourselves.”
