Peacock’s Love Island USA dominated the Nielsen streaming charts for the second week of season eight, coming close to a series high viewing total.

The show delivered 1.83 billion minutes of viewing time for the week of June 8-14, up 40 percent from its premiere week and 68 percent from a year ago. It was the second-biggest week on record for Love Island USA, behind 1.93 billion for the final week of season seven last July.

The six episodes that streamed during the June 8-14 period accounted for about 1.15 billion minutes, or 63 percent of Love Island’s weekly total. Other season eight episodes amassed 515 million minutes; the remainder of the weekly total was for past seasons, including three pre-Peacock runs that stream on Disney+ and Paramount+.

No other show or movie crossed the billion-minute mark for the week, which also marked the start of the men’s World Cup and drew big audiences, including for Spanish-language telecasts on Peacock (live sports aren’t included in Nielsen’s streaming ratings). Sweet Magnolias, which began its fifth season on Netflix on June 11, finished second among original series with 806 million minutes of watch time.

Dutton Ranch suffered its first weekly decline while still posting a solid 746 million minutes of viewing. Some of the drop (from 840 million minutes a week earlier), Nielsen notes, might be attributable to the episode that premiered June 12 being about 10 minutes shorter than the average of previous episodes. The 2019-21 Hulu series Shrill also made the top 10 originals after being added to Netflix on June 8.

True-crime documentary Maternal Instinct led the movie chart with 665 million minutes of viewing on Netflix, just ahead of the 663 million for Hoppers on Disney+.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences. The top streaming titles for June 8-14, 2026, are below.
