Tyler Robinson's alleged confession note was accidentally shown in court despite the judge's ruling it not be displayed for the public.

A dramatic weeklong evidence hearing has been underway for Robinson, 23, who faces the death penalty if he is convicted of murdering Charlie Kirk in front of thousands of people at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.

Prosecutors have said that Robinson left a confession note for his transgender lover and roommate, Lance Twiggs, under a keyboard in their home. 

While Judge Tony Graf previously ruled that the court could not broadcast anything that the state calls a 'confession' ahead of jury selection, images of the note were briefly livestreamed on Thursday.

One image was of the burnt note, and the other was a picture of the unscathed note taken from Twiggs' phone.

The images were briefly shown to the public, then quickly taken down once Graf noticed the oversight. 

In the alleged confession note, which Twiggs confirmed finding in his April interview with police, Robinson referred to him by his chosen name 'Luna,' instead of Lance.

'If you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry. I left the house this morning on a mission, and set an auto text,' the note read, per the court filings and the photographed letter. 

'I am likely dead, or facing a lengthy prison sentence. I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it. I don’t know if I will/have succeeded, but I had hoped to make it home to you.

'I wish we could have lived in a world where this did not feel necessary. I wish I could have stayed for you and lived our lives together.'

Twiggs said in his police interview that only some people called him Luna, and he had not told everyone in his life to use that name.

Thursday's hearing was filled with bombshell testimony from Twiggs who said that Robinson expressed regret over allegedly shooting Kirk.  

Twiggs said Robinson texted him to check under his computer keyboard after Kirk was shot dead.

Twiggs said the note panicked him, and when Robinson returned home the next day, the alleged assassin began pacing around their home and avoiding questions.

'I asked him in person if what he said he had done the night before was true. He said it was,' Twiggs said.

Twiggs claimed Robinson eventually admitted to the assassination, and said Robinson began crying and told him he wished he 'had not done it,' before conceding that he was going to turn himself in.

The moment came as Twiggs' police interview from April 2026 was played in Robinson's hearing with some redactions.

Twiggs said he and Robinson first met in 2023 and moved into a shared apartment in St George, Utah.

He and Robinson began a romantic relationship around two months later, Twiggs told investigators.

He said on the morning Kirk was assassinated, Robinson left early in the morning and claimed he had to work a long shift, and Twiggs did not hear from him again until 11pm that night when he received a message about the note under the keyboard.
