Celebrity guests have descended on Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday to celebrate the long-anticipated nuptials of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

As the A-listers make their way into the well-secured venue, speculation has run rife about the closely-held details of the summer wedding.

One such detail is the wedding bands Swift, 36, and Kelce will exchange at the altar, with Sophie Lomax, the Head of Design for Austen & Blake, sharing her predictions.

'We predict Taylor will likely choose a yellow gold wedding band to match her engagement ring,' she tells Daily Mail. 

'This warm, traditional metal is an enduring symbol of love and commitment. 

'Her engagement ring will likely determine her chosen karat, as it's recommended that the two rings match.'

Lomax goes on to say the band may be vintage inspired to match her old mine brilliant cut diamond engagement ring, valued between US$550,000 (AU$792,000) and US$1 million (AU$1.4 million).

'Taylor's engagement ring features beautiful detailing on the yellow gold band. It adds a romantic, almost whimsical touch to the design,' she says. 

'A vintage-inspired wedding ring usually echoes these features with intricate designs and classic details that capture the romance of bygone eras. 

'Whether adorned with delicate filigree, milgrain edges, or antique engravings of floral or vine-like motifs. 

'They're ideal for those who appreciate historical beauty and rare styles. These rings offer a distinctive and enduring symbol of love.'

Lomax adds Swift may have a band set with diamonds to 'enhance the brightness and scintillation of her engagement ring'.   

'It would become an enchanting way to symbolise everlasting love – creating an eye-catching wedding stack,' she explains.

'A coloured gemstone band would be an unexpected choice, but would add colour and vintage charm in line with her engagement ring's design.'

As for the shape, Lomax says Swift may opt for a curved band so it can fit against her enormous engagement diamond, believed to be between 8 and 10 carats.  

'Taylor's diamond ring is said to include a rare old mine diamond that is upwards of 8 carats,' she says. 

'It features a centre stone with rounded corners, sharing a similar silhouette to oval and elongated cushion cut diamonds.

'Shaped wedding rings are perfect for those with a uniquely shaped or particularly large carat weight centre stone for their engagement ring.'

Lomax goes on to speculate: 'We may see Taylor opt for a simpler, refined design with a plain wedding band. 

'Wonderfully traditional, a plain wedding band exudes stylish simplicity and makes the perfect pairing to almost every engagement ring style. They're truly timeless.'

Meanwhile, Kelce, 36, is expected to set his wedding band with diamonds or a textured finish if he chooses not to go with a traditional plain ring. 

'Travis has been photographed wearing both yellow gold and cool-tone platinum jewellery in the past, as well as designs finished with diamonds,' Lomax says.

'He could choose a ring set with diamonds or a textured finish to make a statement,' she adds.

'Or opt for something more traditional, like a plain D-shape wedding band in platinum or yellow gold to potentially match Taylor's ring.'

It comes as A-list guests have been spotted arriving at Madison Square Garden in time for the highly anticipated wedding between Swift and Kelce. 

The mind-blowing wedding bonanza is expected to be the party of the century.

Bradley Cooper kicked off the glamorous arrivals, while the bride prepared with rumored bridesmaid and best friend Gigi Hadid in her downtown Manhattan home.

Mega-watt celebrities Jay Z and Steven Spielberg jetted into the city on helicopters from the Hamptons ahead of the big bash.

Swift and Kelce partied late into the night on Thursday for their 'rehearsal dinner' with 100 of their closest friends, including Hadid, her partner Cooper, Selena Gomez and Jack Antonoff.

There are conflicting reports about whether Swift and Kelce have already married, but an enormous party with 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden has kicked off.

Industry experts claim the nuptials cost more than US$15 million (AU$21.6 million), including the venue, security, insurance, permits, catering and decorations to transform the venue into their fairytale wedding.

Taxpayers contributed over US$1 million ($1.4 million) to pay for the couple's NYPD security detail patrolling MSG, which banned the press from getting too close and threatened to arrest anyone who did not comply with street-closure rules on Thursday.

Kelce proposed to Swift on August 10 last year in an intimate garden setting at his home in Lee's Summit, Missouri. 

The couple kept the engagement private for about two weeks before publicly announcing it with a joint Instagram post on August 26.
