Australian singer Vance Joy has revealed the very surprising reason he did not get along with Taylor Swift's father Scott.

In 2015, Vance, 37, supported Taylor, 35, during the Australian leg of her 1989 World Tour - and while he and the pop star got on well, the same could not be said for her father, who was not a fan of his band's laid-back attitude.

'Her Dad was driving around on a Segway all the time through the stadiums, because it's a lot of walking, and he already didn't like my drummer Trent,' Vance told Fox FM's Carrie and Tommy.

'Because my friend Trent is just a chill guy, and I don't know, Scott just didn't like him loitering in the hallways. It was kind of like a lockdown security vibe.'

He added Scott's apparent dislike for them reached boiling point when they tried to play Frisbee with him - to disastrous results.

'Trent saw Scott scooting away on his Segway, and I was throwing a frisbee with Trent. He threw the bloody frisbee at Scott Swift!' Vance said. 

'He's like, "heads up" and threw it... Anyway, Scott Swift tried to reach the Frisbee while on his Segway... He didn't! No wonder he didn't like me.'

In 2017, Vance revealed he had distanced himself from the pop princess's very exclusive clique.

It was reported that Vance 'doesn't talk to Taylor anymore' despite the fact the two toured throughout Europe, the United States and Australia in 2015.

'I haven't kept in contact,' Vance told Yahoo during his appearance at the ARIA awards.

However, it appears there is no bad blood between the two, with the Australian musician gushing over the pop queen.

He is a fan of her blockbuster album, Reputation, stating: 'Her song Delicate... is just an absolute banger. I always listen to it'.

Vance opened more than fifty shows for Taylor during her 1989 World Tour back in 2015. 

The pair became good pals with Vance even gifting Taylor with a $20,000 painting he had personally commissioned for her by iconic Australian artist Ken Done.

At the time, the musician told The Sydney Morning Herald: 'I think I am in her broader squad. 

'I think there is an inner sort of Bad Blood crew'.

Taylor's clique at the time was said to include fellow Australian Ruby Rose, as well as models Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid.

New Zealander Lorde was also commonly thought of as being in the infamous circle of friends.

However back in July 2017 she refuted the claim.

'I don't hang out with these people at all' the quirky starlet insisted in an interview with David 'Kochie' Koch.
