Jarod Hart wasn't expected to be a musician. Born without part of his right arm, Hart's parents didn't know that he would become so interested in music. But he did, playing his family's piano while taking lessons at a young age. His passion for music grew during middle school and high school, and he came to Iowa State to study music education and composition. Hart had so many great teachers that helped grow his passion for music that he wanted to teach band. He even spent time student-teaching at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and Boone Middle School as part of his college program.
