Queen Camilla wore blue at Easter as a nod to 'renewal and new life'.

The royal, 77, joined King Charles and dozens of royals at the Easter Service in Windsor on Sunday with  Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi as well as Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank all in attendance.

Taking Sunday best literally, the royal women were sure to dress to the nines in colourful clothing, with fashion editor Karine Laudort revealing Camilla's outfit and colour choice was no accident.

'This palette choice subtly nods to themes of renewal and serenity, fitting for the season and setting.'

Karine added that the queen's hat had a feminine and pretty quality to it, while her accessorises boasted a more practical tone. 

'Her look was completed with a coordinated wide-brimmed hat adding dimension and a soft, feminine flair to the structured silhouette,' the expert explained.

'She accessorised her outfit with a textured beige tote-style handbag, a modern yet practical alternative to the traditional clutch.' 

The Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson were spotted arriving at the ceremony as was the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their son James, Earl of Wessex. 

Notably absent were the Prince and Princess of Wales who celebrated Easter with the Middleton family and Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine and Prince Louis, six at Sandringham instead.

And as the family gathered, putting their best fashion foot forward, an expert has revealed the hidden meanings behind the stylish ensembles. 

Clooked radiant in a baby blue coat from Fiona Clare Couture which featured delicate floral embroidery around the collar and cuffs.

The royal added a matching blue wide-brimmed hat, set jauntily on her head and finished off with a statement blue rose by Philip Treacy.

To her spring-inspired outfit, Camilla added a small brooch with a central moonstone and diamond figure-of-eight pattern and a Bottega Veneta bag in ecru with matching leather gloves.

Meanwhile the King matched his wife of 20 years in a dark blue suit, adding a touch of spring to his outfit with a pastel pink shirt and bright blue castle-print tie. 

Not only did he present an exciting outfit choice, but he also projected his calm authority.  

Karine said of the king's bold look: 'King Charles appeared in a polished royal tailoring for this year’s Easter service, opting for a deep sapphire blue suit, a tone richer than traditional navy, which felt like a deliberate nod to spring renewal, offering vibrancy while still staying within the bounds of royal formality. 

'The colour coordination subtly echoed Queen Camilla’s powder blue ensemble, reinforcing the visual unity between the royal couple without appearing overtly matched—a strategic sartorial harmony often favoured by royal pairs during public religious ceremonies. 

'King Charles’s ensemble demonstrated the power of monochrome dressing with tonal variation—a technique often used in diplomatic circles to project calm authority.'

Keeping in with the Easter theme and bright colours, Princess Anne, 74, donned a pastel and bottle green double-breasted coat with a Robin Hood-inspired hat.

Karine added that Princess Anne 'stayed true to her distinct personal style - refined, no-nonsense, and rooted in tradition' and also gave a subtle nod to her military background.

The expert said: 'The silhouette - a midi-length coat with a high collar and nipped-in waist - felt reminiscent of military or equestrian tailoring, echoing her lifelong connection to both service and horsemanship. 

'Her sage green hat, shaped with a fedora-like structure and minimal trim, gave the outfit a distinctly countryside-chic touch. 

'Lastly, she carried a structured black clutch, keeping the accessories sharp, simple, and functional, and a vintage-style brooch at the neck, possibly a piece with personal or historical meaning. 

'Princess Anne’s overall look was the epitome of timeless royal utility, as she remains one of the few royals to consistently channel practical elegance, with nods to both heritage and service.'

Matching her aunt's green-themed outfit, Princess Beatrice, 36, opted for a bottle green dress from Ahana Chambre which she paired with matching green satin Mary Jane heels by Emilia Wickstead, and a gold and green statement hairband from by Justine Bradley-Hill Millinery. 

The fashion expert described Beatrice's colour choice as 'inspired', adding: 'The emerald hue, rich yet understated, was an inspired choice for a spring religious service, evoking both new beginnings and timeless sophistication.'

To finish off her look, the mother-of-two added a white clutch bag to match the pearl buttons on her midi dress.

Princess Eugenie, 35, went one step further with her light colour choice, opting for a brilliant off-white trench coat from Reiss and matching beret-style hat with a veil from Emily-London headwear.

The royal added a pair of camel-coloured suede heels to match her beige dress and handbag. 

In tune with her mother, Sarah Ferguson, 65, also went for a white outfit.

Channeling Chanel in a structured white and black jacket over a black dress with matching gloves, handbag and headband, making the red-haired royal the picture of timeless elegance.

Meanwhile Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh went for deeper and richer tones, wearing a deep burgundy coat over a white collared dress. 

The royal, 60, matched her clutch with gold details to her coat but opted for a playful contrast with a blush pink fascinator complete with contrasting veil. 

She added burgundy and pastel drop earrings and nude patent leather kitten heels with pearl button details. 

Karine revealed the royal had perfectly balanced the receding autumn season with the rebirth of spring, explaining: 'The deep wine colour brought autumnal depth to a springtime palette, creating a sophisticated contrast to the lighter pastels traditionally worn at Easter, yet still very much seasonally appropriate. 

'Crowning the look was a muted pink and cream cocktail hat, worn at a chic tilt, complete with a sculptural bow. 

'The mix of plum and blush tones worked harmoniously, showcasing Sophie’s sophisticated approach to colour-blocking.'
