Lemongrass Thai, 3536 Cummings Hwy., located in the Walmart shopping center in Lookout Valley, has been approved to sell beer by the city of Chattanooga. The family-run restaurant is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and specializes in serving traditional Thai dishes.

Kai Bistro, an Asin Fusion restaurant will serve a blend of Asian cuisines such as Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese, Thai and Hawaiian, when it opens. It is located at 625 Main St. Hours of operation are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Mondays-Saturday and from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. The approval of a beer license from the Chattanooga Regulatory Bureau has been held up because of a zoning issue, but is expected by the April 16 meeting of the Chattanooga Beer Board. The restaurant will also be selling beer to accompany the food.

A new bar, W and Y Sports bar, will be opening at 2716 Dodson AveA. The owner must apply for a special exception permit to sell beer because of the city’s zoning polices. The application for this permit will be heard at the next meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals on April 1 and, if the rezoning request passes, the beer board will hear the application on April 2, the first meeting of the board in April.
