I’ve settled before. Accepted love that looked right on the surface but left me emptier than I was before it arrived. Love that was conditional, inconsistent, that made me work for what should have been freely given. And I don’t want to do that again.

So today I’m asking you to send someone who loves me the way you do. I know no one can love perfectly. But someone whose love is patient when I’m difficult. Someone who chooses me consistently, not just when it’s convenient. Someone who sees the real me, not just the version I present when everything is going well – and stays anyway.

Send someone whose love makes me feel safe, not anxious. Whose presence brings me peace, not confusion. Who points me toward you instead of pulling me away. Who is secure enough in who they are that they don’t need to diminish who I am.

God, heal whatever in me keeps accepting less than this. Teach me to recognize this kind of love when it arrives, and to walk away from anything that falls short of it without guilt or second-guessing. I’m not asking for perfect. I’m asking for real. Send them, God. In your timing, in your way.
