If you're looking for a quiet getaway that's not too far from home this summer, we've found a beautiful North Wales escape just under an hour's drive from Liverpool. The Offas Dyke Escape is a cabin pod in St Asaph, Denbighshire, enjoying stunning views of Snowdonia and beyond to Anglesey.
Perfect for a couple or solo traveller, the mezzanine-style king bed cabin has an open plan living room, walk-in shower, kitchen and dining area, as well as an outdoor patio with seating and a hot tub. There's also a pub, restaurant, and spa half a mile away.

One guest wrote a review that reads: "We stayed at Offas Dyke Escape for our honeymoon for a week and loved every minute of our stay. The host's are wonderful very helpful helped us pick some great places to visit and the pod itself as everything you need.
"We even got some bird seed for the feeders just outside the pod and saw woodpeckers and Jay's. The setting is just the best just laying on the sofa looking out at the amazing view. Will definitely be going back again."
Another guest said: "The owners Ali and Anna are very welcoming and friendly. Ali provided us with lots of local information as to best places to eat, drink and visit. We tried them all and we recommend the Dinorben Arms and the Blue Lion.
"The cabin is set high above the owners property which gives you privacy and beautiful views towards Snowdonia and the sea. Nothing could beat relaxing in the hot tub watching the sun set over Snowdonia. On arrival we had some lovely complimentary items, milk, butter, bagels, cake, beer and Prosecco which was much appreciated.
"We were even lucky enough to get some fresh eggs one day to enjoy for breakfast. This was a much needed relaxing break for us and we will certainly return one day, we can’t recommend enough. Thankyou Ali and Anna for making our stay so lovely."
However, it's worth noting there are no pets or infants allowed at this property.
Alternatively, there's a cosy cabin available called Cae Helyg - Nant Celyn in Gwyddelwern, near Corwen, North Wales which does allow for a pet. Situated near the Berwyn mountains, Snowdonia National Park, Bala Lake, and Pistyll Rhaeadr, the one bed can be booked via Holiday Cottages UK.
The pod has its own garden with a patio area, BBQ, seating, and a hot tub. This cabin has been graded four stars by the website, and has availability through July, August, September and the rest of the year.
