Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga announces its marketing coordinator has been promoted to the manager level, and that a new director of finance and construction office manager have joined its team.
McKenna Wallace, a graduate of East Tennessee State University and proud Chattanooga native, joined Habitat Chattanooga in 2024 as Events and Marketing Coordinator.
In her role of over two years, Ms. Wallace was a key contributor to the non-profit’s storytelling through both traditional communication channels and events, and was instrumental in the re-development of Habitat Chattanooga’s new fall fundraiser, Blueprints for the Future.
In her new position, Ms. Wallace increases her oversight of Habitat Chattanooga’s events and marketing, and looks forward to continue growing their visibility to share the impact of safe, affordable housing.
“McKenna has been invaluable to Habitat and our mission over the last two years,” said Jens Christensen, Habitat Chattanooga CEO. “Her love for the Habitat community and commitment to our mission is evident in all her hard work, and we’re excited for this next chapter.”
Outside of work, Ms. Wallace enjoys spending time with friends, family, and staying creative through crafting.
A Chicago native, Ernestine Godfrey joins Habitat Chattanooga as director of finance, bringing background in HR management from WTCI-PBS. Formerly, Ms. Godfrey served at the managerial level at an automation company and streamlined financial processes, recruited top talent, and implemented programs to boost employee engagement and productivity.
Ms. Godfrey most looks forward to being a part of Habitat Chattanooga to empower people, foster dignity, and bring communities together.
When she’s not working, Ms. Godfrey serves in several ministries including Abba’s House Youth and Freedom Ministry, and continues to explore the Chattanooga-area with her family.
Habitat Chattanooga’s new Construction Office Manager Stephanie Herrick brings 20 years of office management experience to the role, and spent 39 years in a medical office setting.
Ms. Herrick says she most looks forward to seeing Habitat homeowners achieve their dreams.
In her downtime, Ms. Herrick enjoys reading and, as an Army brat, loves to travel.
“Habitat’s work in the community is as deeply personal as it is important to our Homeowners, and requires our team members to be highly invested and passionate,” said Ryan Weseloh, assistant director of Habitat Chattanooga. “Already, Ernestine and Stephanie are a great fit, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to this team.”
