The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved more than 30 proposals aimed at strengthening the State’s economy and accelerating sustainable development. Among the key decisions is the loan waiver of up to ₹1.5 lakh for farmers from seven villages who would be surrendering land in the second phase of the Amaravati capital project. The benefit will apply to loans taken before January 6, 2026.
Disclosing the details of the Cabinet meeting on Friday, Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi said that the Cabinet approved 10 Multi-Village Drinking Water Schemes worth ₹9,355 crore to improve access to safe drinking water in rural areas across the State.
Among the major decisions, the Cabinet cleared the establishment of a National Investigation Agency (NIA) Special Court in Visakhapatnam. It approved a farm loan waiver of up to ₹1.5 lakh for farmers from seven villages surrendering land in the second phase of the Amaravati Capital City project. It also cleared amendments to the AP Capital City Land Pooling Scheme Rules to implement enhanced annuity benefits for eligible landowners who executed land pooling agreements on or after June 12, 2024. The annuity for dry (metta) land has been increased from ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 per acre, while that for wet (jaribu) land has been raised from ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 per acre for a period of 10 years, in line with the APCRDA resolution adopted on July 7, 2026, he said.
Mr. Parthasarathi said the Cabinet also approved ₹50 crore for tourism promotion to strengthen the State’s tourism sector. Incentives to ITC Hotel in Nellore, Madhavi Hotel in Kadapa and Sarovar Portico Hotel in Vijayawada were approved as part of the government’s efforts to encourage investment in tourism and hospitality.
The Minister said that the Cabinet also approved an integrated amusement park in Kadapa, the establishment of Ambedkar Gurukul Centres of Excellence in Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Nellore, and proposals to provide residential coaching for students preparing for IIT-JEE and NEET examinations.
Further approvals included modernisation of the command area under the Peddagedda Reservoir, development of feeder channels and the Beeraganipalle Reservoir in Kuppam, and allocation of land to institutions cleared by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).
