TCS has been named the technology and innovation partner for New Terminal One at New York’s JFK Airport, part of the Port Authority’s $19-billion airport transformation project.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced on Tuesday that it has been named the technology and innovation partner for New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, in a deal that positions the Indian IT major at the centre of one of the United States’ largest airport infrastructure overhauls.

The partnership, disclosed in regulatory filings to BSE and NSE on July 14, 2026, tasks TCS with building the digital backbone of the new terminal, which is part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion transformation of JFK Airport. TCS will manage passenger processing systems, AI-driven IT operations, terminal infrastructure management, enterprise application support, and cybersecurity services.

The company will deploy its proprietary Cognix and ignio platforms to give the terminal and its partner airlines end-to-end visibility across passenger processing, baggage handling, and security operations, with the stated goal of reducing airline operating costs and improving the travel experience.

Jennifer Aument, CEO of New Terminal One, said TCS’s involvement was aimed at making the terminal rank among the world’s best, with the project targeting a five-star Skytrax rating.

TCS shares were trading at ₹2,193.60 on the NSE at 11.55 am on Tuesday, up 0.55 per cent from the previous close of ₹2,181.50, touching an intraday high of ₹2,228. The stock has, however, lost roughly 32 per cent year-to-date and is down about 31.9 per cent over the past year, significantly underperforming the Nifty 50. Its 52-week high stands at ₹3,350, hit in February 2026, against a 52-week low of ₹1,976.80 recorded just two weeks ago. TCS reported consolidated revenues exceeding $30 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
