Whether she’s on a red carpet or off duty, Zendaya knows how to turn out a look. And although it’s her flawless outfit choices that often steal the spotlight, another slightly more unsung hero is her makeup, which she has perfected over the years.
Although she’s an undeniable queen of the red carpet full glam, we’ve found one product she uses that’s ideal for everyday use; and surprisingly, it’s thanks to her Euphoria character Rue. Whilst on the show, Emmy-winning makeup artist Donni Davy revealed that she used MAC’s Studio Radiance Face and Body Radiant Sheer Foundation to create a flawless but still skin-like finish.

Whilst it might not give you the same full coverage as a heavier foundation, the £34 Face and Body Foundation is absolutely perfect for the warmer weather thanks to its more skin tint-like formula. It offers just enough buildable coverage to even out skin tone, cover blemishes and hide dark circles, whilst still looking (and most importantly feeling) like you’re wearing nothing at all.
A saviour for the hot weather, the foundation is waterproof, which means it won’t slip or wear off when sweating, all while giving your skin a natural-looking glow. It’s also instantly hydrating and stays true to colour, giving you eight hours of long-wear so you don’t need to try topping it up on sweaty, SPF-layered skin.
If you have complicated or temperamental skin, the MAC Face and Body Foundation has been dermatologist-tested to make it suitable for all skin types and won’t exacerbate acne. You can also choose from 30 different shades and undertone options of the Face and Body Foundation, with a shade finder tool making it easier to make sure you get it just right – it is meant to look like you’re wearing nothing at all, after all.
Whilst the MAC foundation helps nail Zendaya’s more pared-back beauty look, if you’re keen to copy her red carpet style (and who wouldn’t be), then her go-to MUA Ernesto Casillas has been sharing some behind the scenes beauty secrets from her The Odyssey red carpet appearances.
One of her most recent looks relied on a full face from Charlotte Tilbury, including the Beautiful Skin Foundation in shade 7N . This is slightly pricier at £40, and whilst still not a heavy-duty full coverage foundation, it does offer more coverage than the MAC one.
It has a medium coverage which is still buildable, and contains skincare ingredients to make it hydrating and skin-boosting with every wear. The shade range isn’t quite as diverse as her MAC foundation, but it creates a similar radiant effect on the skin which is perfect for everyday and red carpets alike.
