Summer's second heat wave underway as mercury soars to highest levels in 11 days

Temperatures soared into the 90s for much of the Chicagoland area (except immediate shoreline locations where a localized lake breeze kept readings in the 80s) for the first time since July 2 when the mercury reached 95 degrees.
