The City of Plano is working to contain an oil spill after an oil tanker crashed and overturned on Friday afternoon.
According to a preliminary traffic investigation, at about 1 p.m., the driver of a white Mazda ran a red light and was struck on the passenger side by an oil tanker truck traveling through the intersection of Spring Creek Parkway and Windhaven Parkway.
The tanker truck then overturned onto the driver’s side, coming to rest on the curb and blocking northbound lanes of Windhaven Parkway and Spring Creek Parkway.
