A "one of a kind" boy has been remembered by his family following his death at just 11 years old.
A Derbyshire driver has been arrested after George Dennis died following a collision with a lorry in Epping Road in Ongar, Essex, on Friday (July 10).
The 48-year-old male lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding George's death.
George's mum, Emma, described him as "a bright light in our lives" and a football-mad Tottenham Hotspur fan in a touching tribute to her son.
She said: "He had the kindest heart, a cheeky smile, and a personality that was truly one of a kind. He was full of life, always making people laugh, and brought so much happiness to everyone who knew him."
She added: "He was about to leave primary school and was so excited for the next chapter of his life. George was absolutely football-mad and a devoted Tottenham Hotspur supporter.
"Football was his passion, and it brought him so much joy and happiness. Always so passionate, shouting at the telly, watching every game when his beloved Spurs scored. A noise I will miss for a lifetime."
George leaves behind two older brothers, a sister and his wider family. Emma continued: "George was my world, my baby. From the day he was born, being a light in our lives.
"Like all of our children, he was so, so, so, so special. The pain of losing him is impossible to put into words, and we simply do not know how we will ever begin to heal as a family.
"Our lives have changed forever, and there will always be a space that can never be filled.
"We have been overwhelmed by the love, kindness and support shown by our family, friends, neighbours, George's school, the football community and so many people who never even met him.
"Every message, every flower, every kind word and every act of support and kindness has meant more than we could ever express. It has reminded us just how many lives George touched in his short but beautiful life."
Tributes have poured in from across the community since George's death. Dozens of flowers, balloons and football items have been left at the scene of the collision.
Nikki Batt, headteacher of Moreton CofE Primary School, where George was in Year 6, said: "George was a pupil here for seven years. He was kind, polite and a positive beacon of light during his time here.
"A dedicated House Captain for the Shamrocks house of Moreton, he was well loved by his entire class and the wider school community, in which he had many strong friendships. His death has hit everyone in the school extremely hard, and his death brings a hole that could never be filled. We will miss him dearly."
An Essex Police spokesperson said: "The investigation is being led by officers in the Serious Collision Investigation Unit who continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone driving in the vicinity at the time who may have captured footage on dashcam to contact them.
