The Christie novel was published from the beginning as "And Then There Were None" in the U.S., and as far as I can tell this Collins story is not a reprint of an earlier publication. So yes, it looks like he just swiped the name of a very famous story
Someone published a mystery story with the same title as one of the most famous Agatha Christie mysteries? That would be like me writing a spy story called The Bourne Identity!
(And, yes, I know the book came out under multiple titles, but at the time of this magazine, it would have been best known as And Then There Were None in the US.)
