About This Session

The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) has recently released important updates to two of its core resources: the SRP Standard & Chain of Custody (CoC) version 2.6 and the Brand Manual version 2.0. These updates refine how the SRP Standard is implemented and communicated across the rice value chain, and understanding them is essential for anyone using the SRP Logo, SRP Label, or SRP Claims in their products or communications. This webinar marks the first session of the new SRP Webinar Series, a members’ learning initiative designed to bring practical, easy-to-understand guidance directly to the SRP community supplementing the official documentation with real-world context and the opportunity to ask questions directly.

FEATURED SPEAKER – SRP CHAMPION TRAINER

Le Trong Lu, Ph.D.

SRP Training Specialist at Peterson Services Vietnam
The trainer who delivered the highest number of SRP trainings in 2025

With more than 14 years of experience in agriculture, Le Trong Lu has become one of the most trusted voices in sustainable rice training across Vietnam. As an SRP Training Specialist at Peterson Services Vietnam and a lecturer at Yersin University of Da Lat, he has spent his career helping farmers, businesses, and stakeholders adopt more sustainable agricultural practices through the SRP Standard and Performance Indicators (SPI), Chain of Custody (CoC), and Internal Management Systems (IMS). His dedication was recently recognized when he was named one of SRP’s first Champion Trainers, having delivered the highest number of SRP trainings of any trainer in 2025.

Experience with SRP

Q: How did you first become involved with the SRP Standard?

During my work in sustainable agriculture, I had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with the team from Peterson. Through those interactions, I was invited to join their work on the SRP Standard, which marked the beginning of my journey with SRP.

Q: What motivates you to continue supporting SRP and sustainable rice production?

Vietnam is one of the world’s largest rice-producing countries, and its rice sector is steadily progressing toward more sustainable production. As someone working in the field of agriculture, I want to contribute, even in a small way, to supporting this transformation. Rice is also a staple food for my family and me, so this work is not only part of my profession it is also something that is personally meaningful to me.

Q: In your experience, what value does the SRP Standard bring to farmers, businesses, and the rice sector?

In my opinion, the SRP Standard creates value for all stakeholders across the rice value chain. For farmers, it helps provide a more stable livelihood and increases the value of their income compared with conventional rice farming. For businesses, it supports a more stable and reliable supply of raw materials, which lays the foundation for consistent product quality and sustainable profitability. For the rice sector as a whole, the SRP Standard helps strengthen long-term sustainability and creates opportunities for continued growth by building consumer confidence and trust in rice products certified under the SRP Standard.

What you’ll learn:
  • What’s new in SRP CoC Policy & Standard v2.6, including the role of RiceTrace as the sole official platform for transaction validation and claim substantiation
  • What’s new in Brand Manual v2.0 and the new multi-ingredient on-pack claims
  • What these changes mean for your day-to-day compliance and reporting
  • Where to find the official documentation and support resources
Haven’t Registered Yet?

And for those who’d like to go deeper, we are hosting an upcoming webinar where SRP specialists will walk through both updates and take your questions live. This webinar is specifically designed for SRP Members, CoC Authorized Trainers, and Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs).
