A series of NYC-themed films screened under the stars
Featuring music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, In the Heights (2021) takes place over three days in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood, where a young Dominican bodega owner and an aspiring fashion designer chase their dreams and one another. Rated PG-13; 143 minutes.
Offered in conjunction with Willem de Kooning: The Breakthrough Years, 1945–50, this film is part of the Museum’s outdoor summer film series, showcasing three movies set in New York City. Bring your own blanket! In case of inclement weather, the screening will be moved to the Museum’s Grand Hall.
