Connecticut gas prices: A county-by-county breakdown

Дата публикации: 12-05-2026 12:04:52

Connecticut drivers are continuing to feel pressure at the pump, with gas prices in the state sitting just above the national average, according to AAA.
As of the latest data, average prices in Connecticut are $4.62 for regular, $5.12 for mid-grade, $5.52 for premium, and $5.82 for diesel. That’s slightly higher than national averages, which sit at $4.50, $4.99, $5.37 and $5.64, respectively.
The higher prices come as global tensions continue to impact fuel costs. U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal said Monday that prices have risen about 60% since tensions escalated between the United States and Iran, with negotiations still stalled.
Prices don’t vary dramatically across the state, but some counties are slightly cheaper than others.
According to AAA data, New Haven and Litchfield counties currently have the lowest average gas prices, at about $4.57 per gallon.
On the higher end, Fairfield County has the highest average price, at about $4.66 per gallon, followed by Middlesex County at around $4.62.

Tolland County: $4.60
Hartford County: $4.59
New London County: $4.59
New Haven County: $4.57

Prices are averages and can vary by station and time of day. For example, some gas stations in the state have regular gas prices above $5.61 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
The gap between the averages in the cheapest and most expensive counties is about 9 cents per gallon, meaning prices are fairly consistent across Connecticut.
For drivers, that works out to roughly $1 to $1.50 per fill-up for a typical tank.
