The Daily Mail's hit podcast Whistleblowers has been shortlisted for Best Sport Podcast at the prestigious British Podcast Awards.

The show, hosted by former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg, broadcaster Gordon Smart and Daily Mail Football Editor Ian Ladyman, has been nominated alongside Gary Neville's Stick to Football and That Peter Crouch Podcast.

The nomination continues the Daily Mail's prominence in the world of podcasting, with investigative podcast Pipeline: Left to Die recently taking home Investigative Podcast of the Year at the News Podcast Awards.

Every week, Mark, Gordon and Ian turn a wry eye on the beautiful game, drawing on their unique vantage points from inside the referee's room and the press box.

From analysing the biggest VAR calls to player transfer PR disasters, the Whistleblowers team give audiences a sense of football from the inside, with a lot of laughs along the way.

Whistleblowers delivered three episodes a week throughout this summer's World Cup, keeping listeners across every twist of the tournament as it happened.

The hosts are joined by a revolving door of special guests, including some of the Mail's best-in-class football reporters, former professionals and internet personalities.

Some big names from last season included former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon, firebrand tennis star Nick Kyrgios and the Daily Mail’s own Craig Hope.

Winners of the award will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Thursday, 1 October, at indigo at The O2 in London.
