The Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington, Coonoor commemorated the 27^th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War.

Brigadier Krishnendu Das, Commandant, MRC, led the Wreath-Laying Ceremony and Memorial Parade at the War Memorial.

Addressing the gathering, the Commandant recalled the courage, unwavering resolve and indomitable spirit displayed by the bravehearts of Operation Vijay, who overcame formidable odds, treacherous terrain, extreme weather and a determined enemy occupying dominating heights to restore the sanctity of India’s territorial integrity, a press release from the MRC said.

The ceremony concluded with all ranks reaffirming their resolve to uphold the ideals of duty, courage, selfless service and devotion to the Nation, while carrying forward the glorious legacy of the Kargil heroes and remaining ever prepared to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity.
