Multiple agitations held in Coimbatore on Thursday extended solidarity to the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against NEET question paper leak, and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the Students Federation of India (SFI) took out a march from VKK Menon Road to Gandhipuram in the evening, condemning the Union government over the NEET paper leak and police excess on students’ protest at Jantar Mantar. They wanted the resignation of Mr. Pradhan.

The SFI staged a separate protest against NEET at the Government Arts College in Coimbatore earlier in the day.

V. Srinidhi, who contested in Singanallur constituency in the recent Assembly election as Congress candidate and later joined the DMK, started a sit-in protest condemning the NEET question paper leak on Thursday. Around 50 persons under her leadership were participating in the protest at the DMK district headquarters office at Coimbatore north.

Meanwhile, an anti-NEET coalition has planned for a three-day protest at Tatabad from Friday. Various organisations that have been demanding to scrap NEET are likely to join the protest.
