In 2025, the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) introduced new insurance plans to expand its product portfolio and market reach.

LIC’s Protection Plus is a non-par, linked, individual life savings plan that offers life insurance cover plus savings throughout the policy term. It offers flexibility to choose the type of investment fund, increase or decrease the sum assured and pay “top-up” premiums. Under this plan, the proposer can choose the amount of premium he/she desires to pay based on which, the basic sum assured will be decided.

LIC’s Bima Kavach is a non-par, non-linked, individual pure risk life plan that provides financial protection to the insured's family in case of their unfortunate death during the policy term. Under this plan, the death benefits are fixed and guaranteed, regardless of the actual experience. Bima Kavach offers flexibility to choose from two death benefit options. There is also an option to receive the benefits in installments, providing added financial convenience.

LIC’s JAN SURAKSHA is a Life Micro Insurance Plan. This plan aims to cater to the lower income group people. It has an auto cover facility and guaranteed additions. This plan provides financial support for the family in case of the unfortunate death of the policyholder during the policy term and a lump sum amount at the time of maturity for the surviving policyholder. This plan is only available for standard healthy lives without undergoing any medical examination

LIC’s Bima Lakshmi is an insurance plan designed exclusively for females providing life cover, periodical fixed money back after every 2 years or 4 years or after premium payment ceases, as per life assured’s choice, covers limited illness and attractive guaranteed maturity benefits. Auto cover facility is available after payment of three full years’ premiums paid. This plan is a non par, Nonlinked insurance plan.

The LIC’s Smart Pension plan is a non-par, non linked, individual, group, savings, and immediate annuity plan that offers a range of annuity options for single life as well as joint life type of annuities.
