Fans of The Masked Singer were left stunned during Wednesday's episode as Scarab was revealed to be an Oscar-nominated actress - who also has a connection to Brad Pitt. 

Season 14 of the Fox series kicked off earlier this month and five contestants concealed in elaborate costumes gave performances for the live audience as well as a panel of four judges. 

Host Nick Cannon announced early on that there would be a double elimination during the evening, with both Scarab and Handyman being voted off - shocking the crowd as well as judges Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Rita Ora and Robin Thicke. 

Following a cover of Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, Scarab was unmasked as Taraji P. Henson. 

The star has appeared in a number of projects such as The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, where she worked alongside Pitt. Henson also garnered an Oscar nod for her performance in the film. 

Handyman was also unmasked and revealed to be iconic rapper Tone Loc - who is known for hit tracks such as Funky Cold Medina and Wild Thing. 

After being given a few clues throughout the episode, the judges had a chance to quickly lock in their guess on who they believed was Scarab. 

Ora correctly believed it was Henson, while McCarthy speculated it could have been Angela Bassett. 

Thicke guessed that the performer was Regina King while Jeong thought Wicked star Cynthia Erivo was behind the mask. 

As soon Scarab's mask was removed, the audience let out gasps of shock while the judges also had the same reaction upon seeing Henson. 

'I finally made it,' she told the cheering audience. Ora cut in to say, 'No, I mean this is crazy. I can't believe we've got you on the show!' 

Cannon then asked, 'Taraji, you have played so many powerful women in your career. How was it playing the Scarab?' 

The Hidden Figures actress replied, 'I had a lot of confidence. There's a lot of things you can do hiding behind a mask.

'Because no one can see you!' Henson added with a laugh. 'So you can get down. She was getting jiggy with it. But you can't lip sync.' 

The star then sent gratitude to the crowd before belting out lyrics to Adele's track Set Fire To The Rain. 

Minutes for her elimination, Handyman was also unveiled to be rapper Tone Loc. 

Thicke had correctly guessed that it was the music artist while Ora thought it could have been Ice-T. 

McCarthy believed that the person underneath the mask was Chuck D and Jeong guessed it could have been Mr. T - who is known for his role in the series The A-Team.

When asked to share his experience on being on The Masking Singer, the rapper said, 'I like it, man. 

'My kids just dared me big time to come up on here. Like, "Dad, you're not gonna do that." But I had a good time, and I love it.'

Tone Loc further added, 'Proved them wrong! I'm 59-years-old and I'm still having fun.' 

Before leaving the stage, the music artist performed a snippet of his song Wild Thing for the audience and judges. 

Not long after the two eliminations were announced at the end of Wednesday's episode, social media users jumped to X to share their reaction.

One penned, 'TF YOU MEAN THEY SENT HOME TARAJI P. HENSON???' and another typed, '@Taraji P. Henson was just showing her skills on #TheMaskedSinger.'

'Yep it WAS Tone Loc and Taraji P. Henson!' a fan said, and one shared, 'I knew it... #ScarabMask is Taraji P. Henson!!!'
