• Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury signed to fight each other earlier this year and yet no announcement has been made.

Fury and Joshua have been on a collision course for the last decade without ever meeting in the ring. Both men have twice reigned as heavyweight world champions but failed to agree terms to unify the division while they shared the belts and will now meet with little more than pride on the line.

On Friday night, Fury stopped 46-year-old veteran Mariusz Wach to fulfil his end of his bargain with Joshua who must do likewise tonight against Kristian Prenga. Assuming he does, a fight between the British rivals could finally be announced in the coming days. But a battle is raging over when and where it will be held.

If the fight is in the UK, it could be announced for mid-November as soon as this week. "It’s as easy as Turki Alalshikh saying, 'It’s November 14 at Wembley Stadium. The only thing that’s going to delay it is wanting to move the fight from the UK. Netflix want the biggest audience possible, and they feel like a mid-afternoon start time in the US will jeopardise the potential to maximise the audience," he said.

"I think they probably feel like a 2am. start in the UK versus a 10pm start won’t actually change the audience size in the UK. We’ve had a meeting about this but there's been nothing in the last two weeks, and I think there’s probably a lot of work behind the scenes now with Turki maybe talking to [London Mayor] Sadiq Khan. But a lot of the Americans want to do it at MSG; not Vegas, they want it at MSG.

"When you sign a contract, you expect that to be honoured and followed, and I think we’ve never done a deal with Turki where he hasn’t done that. So, I don’t think he’s trying to pull a fast one. I think he’s paying a lot of money for the fight, and he wants to make it as big a success for every stakeholder involved.

"Turki Alalshikh’s got to pay the bill and he’s got to find a way to make it work, and if that means moving it to somewhere else, that’s a conversation that’ll have to be had. I’m not really a fan of the 2am start, if I’m honest, but I’d rather that than doing it elsewhere."
