The genome sequence of Plagiothecium denticulatum (Hedw.) Schimp. (Hypnales: Plagiotheciaceae) [version 1; peer review: awaiting peer review]

We present a genome assembly of Plagiothecium denticulatum (dented silk-moss; Streptophyta; Bryopsida; Hypnales; Plagiotheciaceae). The genome sequence has a total length of 405.78 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.64%) is scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 104.74 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 125.12 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 17 808 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
