We present a genome assembly of Draba verna (whitlow-grass; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Brassicales; Brassicaceae). The assembly is represented by two haplotypic assemblies, with total lengths of 1 017.94 megabases and 877.73 megabases. Most of haplotype 1, representing one haploid chromosome complement, is scaffolded into 26 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 290.6 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 151.92 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 83 824 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
