Kapamilya actor James Reid is set to headline ABS-CBN’s upcoming primetime television drama, Someone, Someday, with his leading lady, Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo.

James marked a significant milestone in his career alongside Kathryn. It is his first project with the actress.

During a recent solo press briefing on July 14, James discussed his primetime return, his collaboration with Kathryn, and the challenges of establishing a new professional dynamic.

James Reid was part of a loveteam for many years, and in recent years, he ventured into solo projects which, for him, would foster broader career opportunities.

“As far as it comes to working together, I think the crossover of me and Kath working together has been long anticipated actually by a lot of the fans. This [newly] opened way of working together is allowing for more possibilities, a time for more opportunities, such as Someone, Someday to exist,” the actor said.

James expressed particular excitement for viewers to see how he, Kathryn, and fellow lead Maja Salvador bring their characters to life.

Despite spending most of his career paired with a different actress, the actor said that he found it easy to adapt to working with Kathryn, as both were focused on developing their roles and their chemistry with each other.

James also said that he wanted to give his fans something different, something that they have not seen before. He also shared the first thing he said to Kath when they started working.

“I actually told Kath when we first started working, ‘I’m so nervous. I actually haven’t worked with another leading lady.’ And then she was like, ‘It’s okay, I know how you feel.’ At least we’re on the same page,” he shared.

James also noted that the cast naturally bonded while uncovering the nuances of their characters, Jordan and Billy, throughout the shoot.

Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Kathryn Bernardo admitted that she and James Reid did not click immediately.
