Shared View does not respect the redefined ViewCube Top orientation

Дата публикации: 02-08-2026 19:57:30

I am using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2026.3 and I have encountered behavior that I do not understand. The assembly was created directly in Inventor (it is not an imported model).I would like to change the default model orientation by redefining the Top view in the ViewCube and have this orientation preserved when publishing a Shared View and opening it in Autodesk Viewer.Steps to reproduceOpen an assembly.Rotate the model to the desired orientation.Right-click the ViewCube and select Set Current View as Top.Save the assembly.Create a Shared View.Open the Shared View link in Autodesk Viewer.Expected behaviorI expect Autodesk Viewer to use the redefined ViewCube orientation, so that the Top view matches the orientation saved in Inventor.Actual behaviorThe Shared View does not respect the redefined ViewCube orientation. Autodesk Viewer still uses the original model axis orientation, as if Set Current View as Top had never been applied. What I have verifiedInterestingly, the same ViewCube orientation is preserved in another scenario. If I upload the same Inventor assembly directly to Autodesk Viewer using drag & drop, the Viewer correctly respects the redefined ViewCube orientation and the Top view matches the orientation saved in Inventor.I have also found a workaround:Create a new wrapper assembly.Place the original assembly into it.Physically rotate the inserted assembly to the desired orientation.Create the Shared View from the wrapper assembly. In this case, the orientation is displayed correctly in Autodesk Viewer. This suggests that the issue is not related to saving the ViewCube orientation itself, but rather to the way Shared View transfers the model orientation to Autodesk Viewer.QuestionsIs there a supported way to preserve the orientation defined with Set Current View as Top when publishing a Shared View, without physically rotating the model or creating a wrapper assembly? Is there a recommended workflow for preserving the desired model orientation in Autodesk Viewer?
