Bideawee animal shelters are ready for you to meet the newest addition to your family!
Stop by one of the locations to see all the pups and kittens up for adoption or scroll down to see a few of the furry friends waiting their forever home.
GERTIE (4 years old)
Gertie is a very sweet girl who loves being close to her people. She greets her friends with a wagging tail and will gladly roll over for belly rubs whenever the opportunity arises. Gertie truly enjoys companionship and likes being near the people she trusts.
She is still learning the ropes of life outside the home and is working on building confidence during walks. New environments can make her a little anxious, but she’s trying her best and will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue helping her feel comfortable and secure as she learns.
Gertie can be protective of her favorite things, like her bed or food, so she will do best with an experienced and understanding adopter who can continue guiding her and helping her develop good habits. Because of this, she should live in a home without small children. She does have some doggy friends, so she may do well with a canine sibling.
With patience, kindness, and continued guidance, Gertie has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion.

HERSHEY KISS (5 years old)
Hershey Kiss is the definition of a gentle giant.
This big teddy bear may be on the larger side, but in her mind she’s the perfect-sized lapdog and is always happiest snuggled up close to her favorite people.
Sweet, affectionate, and full of love, Hershey Kiss has completely stolen the hearts of the staff and volunteers who know her best.
She adores being around people and just wants to be included in whatever is going on. One of her foster caregivers summed her up perfectly: “She just loves to be included in anything and everything. If there is a party, she is the life of it.”
Hershey Kiss is also house-trained and knows lots of commands, making her a wonderful companion for a lucky home.
Everyone who meets Hershey Kiss falls for her right away. She has so much love to give, and we all agree she deserves the very best home. Hershey should be the only pet in the home.

OBI (10 years old)
Obi is what we lovingly call a gentle giant, and he has been waiting much longer than he should for someone to finally take him home.
This big, handsome boy has completely captured the hearts of the staff and volunteers who know him best, and he has become a familiar, beloved presence around the shelter.
One of Obi’s favorite things to do is wander through the offices to say hello, making his quiet little rounds like he works here too.
Those visits always brighten our day. He is playful, incredibly sweet, and happiest when he is spending time with his people.
Obi enjoys a good chew toy, a cozy place to relax, and he is absolutely convinced that he belongs in someone’s lap. Truthfully, none of us have the heart to argue with him.
During his time in foster, Obi showed just how loving and devoted he can be. His foster family described him as a champion cuddler who simply wants to be close and soak up affection.
Now in his senior years, Obi is not asking for much. Just a soft place to rest, familiar faces to love, and someone willing to finally choose him after all this time. He would do best in a home with older children and as the only dog.
Obi is not a fan of cats, but he has so much love left to give. We hope someone will see the wonderful companion he is and give this very good boy the home he has been patiently waiting for.

TAFFY (3 years old)
This gorgeous girl is Taffy!
She’s incredibly smart, friendly, and outgoing.
She would do great with someone who is familiar with husky-type dogs and is willing to embrace her fun-loving husky spirit.
Taffy loves her people friends and enjoys going on walks, hiking, and other outside activities.
Taffy would do best in a home with no other fur babies. And in a home with older children so she has all the love and attention.
Taffy is a complete sweetheart, loves attention and affection, and makes friends wherever she goes!

ZIGGY (3 years old)
This sweet boy is Ziggy.
He was found as a stray by the sister of one of our staff members.
After a neighborhood search, it was clear that Ziggy had no one coming to claim him, and he was far too loving to be put back outside.
He loves being close, whether that means curling up in your lap, keeping you company on your keyboard, or even hitching a ride on your shoulder.
Ziggy has a dermatological condition that can flare up if he’s under stress, but it’s very manageable with a healthy diet and environment.
He’s a super friendly boy who will make a great companion.
